LAMiNATE Talks

We would like to thank everyone who presented this spring! We are currently working on the autumn series and more information about the schedule will soon be available on our website and LinkedIn. For now, we can tell you that there will be seven talks, starting on 15 September and ending on 8 December, and that presenters include researchers such as Maria Polinsky, Klara Marton, and Caroline Rowland.

Awards

This spring Marianne Gullberg was awarded the Swedish Academy’s prize for outstanding contributions to Swedish linguistics and language planning, in memory of Carl Gabriel and Karin Forsberg (information from the Swedish Academy here, in Swedish). Anders Agebjörn was awarded the Swedish Academy stipend for postdoctoral researchers (information from the Swedish Academy here, in Swedish).

Earlier this year Gullberg was also awarded his Majesty the King's Medal for her research (information from the Royal Court here, in Swedish).

Funding News

During 2026–2027, LAMiNATE receives funding for a postdoc from the LMK foundation. The postdoc position is held by Ilaria Venagli who researches the relationship between second language acquisition and dyslexia. More info (in Swedish) on the LMK website.

Conferences, Conferences, Conferences!

The conference season is upon us! LAMiNATE was well represented at this year's ASLA Symposium in May. In addition to one LAMiNATEr (Alastair Henry) participating in a panel, five LAMiNATErs gave a total of 10 presentations, including keynotes by Ketty Andersson and Alastair Henry.

Marianne Gullberg will give a keynote at the upcoming conference for the Scandinavian Association for Language and Cognition (SALC10) in Umeå.

Like in previous years, LAMiNATE will be represented at EuroSLA 35 in Lisbon this 24–27 June. We invite you to stop by these two LAMiNATE-related posters in session 2:
